Our goal is to develop disruptive pre-hospital medical devices for global distribution with the focus on the ease of use for the enduser.

Our vision is to build a global medical equipment company and provide the emergency and pre-hospital market with effective and user-friendly medical devices.

We are a Norwegian hightech medical devices company founded in 2014, with our headquarters in Stavanger. We count with a multidisciplinary team of 5 highly qualified experts: mechatronic engineers, paramedics, medical suction device R&D and EMS business development experts. Together we combine over 50 years of experience in healthcare, medical devices, hightech product development and successful business management. Our goal is to develop disruptive pre-hospital medical devices for global distribution with the focus on the ease of use for the enduser.

Our work has been widely recognised both in the health-tech and the innovation start-up areas. Most recently we were awarded the EU Horizon 2020 seal of excellence (2020), we were recognized as Covid-19 relevant with EIC Accelerator (2020) and we received funds from Innovation Norway (2020). In 2019 we welcomed Angel Investor, and previously we have been awarded the 37ºC Health Tech Start-Up competition (2017), Pumps and Pipes Grant (2017), Healthcare Prize Oslo Innovation Week 100 Pitches (2016).

Background

The Company was founded with the aim of developing and delivering CARY, an innovative portable suction device designed to clear airways in emergency situations. The founders bring a wealth of experience in technology, regulatory affairs, and product development from the medical device industry. The initial years focused on engaging with users, testing concepts, and refining the vision for CARY.

2019

Kick Off

  • Prototype functionallity successfully tested, indicating a strong potential for our project.
  • We secured funding for further development from Innovation Norway.
  • Established partnership with a key strategic industrial investor, providing not only financial backing but also valuable expertise and connections within the industry.
  • We moved to new premises at 101 Hillevågsveien, Stavanger. This new facility allows us to better accommodate our operational needs.
  • A cooperation agreement with the Norwegian Defense Research Establishment was in plase. This partnership facilitates collaborative research and innovation, particularly in defense-related projects.
  • Being part of Hacking for Allied. This initiative provides us with valuable insight and networking opportunities.

2020 - 2023

Development

  • In november 2020 we successfully delivered the first prototypes of Cary to Norwegian Defense.
  • We established a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Special Operation Command.
  • Initiated a development and production contract with Innokas Medical Oy.
  • We purchased advanced ultrasonic welding machines from Dukane to enhance production capabilities.
  • In December 2023 we completed the production of the first prototypes using high-volume production tools from KB Components AB.

2024

Testing and Validation Phase

  • In February we conducted successful testing at our partner facility, Safe Medical Lab, in Norway.
  • In May we finished summative testing at InterMountain Healt, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
  • We achieved successful completion of all verification and validation processes in September.
  • FDA approval anticipated in the end of 2024.
